Art Exhibition

27th March 2019

This evening, we were very pleased to be able to host a 'Celebrating Fenland' art exhibition.

The exhibition was a culmination of a project involving our Year 3 pupils together with those from many local schools in March, Chatteris and the surrounding villages.

Our pupils were involved in an exchange visit with pupils from Westwood Primary School in March.  Other schools were also able to visit another school whilst some participated in exciting art activities in their own school.  The pupils enjoyed being in a different setting with different teachers whilst experiencing new forms of art.  (See the News item posted on 5th March for further information.)

The exhibits included weaving, screen printing, clay tiles, clay masks, observational drawings and paintings with silhouette landscapes.  The focus for all pieces of work was Fenland - its huge skyline, wind turbines, drains and wildlife.

Thank you to everyone who was involved in the project - the smiles on the pupils' faces as they found their own exhibits certainly made it all worthwhile!  Thank you to all those who found the time to come along and support this event and to our Year 6 pupils who welcomed our guests.

You will also be able to view the exhibition at Westwood Primary School tomorrow, Thursday 28th March, from 5.30pm-7.00pm.
