Christingle

15th December 2017
Our Year 3 children made their own Christingles today.

Christingle means 'Christ Light' and is used to celebrate Jesus Christ as the 'Light of the World'.

Each part of the Christingle symbolizes the importance of Jesus particularly at Christmas time.

  • The orange represents the world
  • The red ribbon (or tape) symbolizes the love and blood of Christ
  • The sweets and dried fruit represent all of God's creations
  • The lit candle represents Jesus' light in the world
