Exciting Projects

During last week's half-term holiday, lots of progress was made on our Outdoor Learning projects.

As you will have read in our Spring Term Newsletter, the Ransonmoor Fund Committee has granted us £5,000 towards the purchase of two outdoor learning pods which have been sited at the end of our playground.  These super pods were erected by Majestic Heritage and will be used in a variety of ways by all pupils to develop their environmental and scientific knowledge.

Burnthouse Farm Wind Farm Community Benefit has granted us £3,000 to regenerate our Science Garden.  We now have a natural, self-sustaining pond with a non-slip viewing area.  There are also bug hotels, an area for cultivating plants, an outdoor classroom with log seating and a designated area for wild flowers to attract bees, butterflies and other minibeasts!  It looks fabulous and was created by Brad White and DBM Landscapes Limited.

We have now received £1,000 from Tesco through their 'Blue Token' scheme.  This funding will be used to purchase books, posters and other equipment for the children to use in these areas.

The Lionel Walden School Association have kindly agreed to fund the remaining work and resources to ensure these projects give maximum joy and impact to our pupils.

Parents, staff and children alike were thrilled with the work which took place within the space of a week!

Thank you to everyone involved!
