Healthy Week

News

4th February 2019

Last week, we held our annual Healthy Week to highlight the importance of choosing a healthier lifestyle and to enable pupils to try new sporting activities and exercises.

The week began with an assembly on Monday which provided an insight into the forthcoming activities.  Children were reminded of the need to embrace the School Games values of passion, self-belief, respect, honesty, determination and teamwork.

We welcomed the following visitors into school:-

Chatteris Tang Soo Do Club
Chatteris Tennis Club
Everyone Health
Doddington Scouts
Ely Rugby Club
Clubbercise

Other PE activities continued as normal including Molly Dancing (Year 5), swimming (Years 5 and 6), multi-skills (Year 1), netball (Year 4) and Rugbytots (Reception and Year 1).  Cross-country sessions also took place along with the gymnastics, football and table tennis after-school clubs led by Premier Sport.

Children were also busy making healthy fruit smoothies and fruit kebabs.

Everyone enjoyed the opportunities provided and our visitors were very complimentary about our children's enthusiasm and behaviour.  Thank you to Miss Bennett for organising this event.
