Inter-Village Schools' Sports

6th July 2017

This afternoon, competitors from Benwick, Manea, Thomas Eaton (Wimblington) and Townley Christchurch) schools joined us at Lionel Walden for this annual event for Key Stage Two pupils.

Parents and grandparents were welcomed on to the field to watch the children participate in a range of events.  All children displayed excellent sportsmanship and eagerly cheered on their teams.

Lionel Walden were the overall winners but all schools did extremely well despite some of them only having a small number of eligible competitors for each age group.

The stormy weather which was forecast also held off making for perfect conditions.

Thank you to all involved in making the event a success - particularly Mrs Naughton for superbly painting the straight lines of the track!

"The encouragement shown by the talented participants was amazing!" - Alexa

"The sun was shining, the parents were cheering and the children were running like true athletes!" - Alex
