Isle of Wight Day 2

News

26th June 2018

Everyone slept well and enjoyed breakfast.  Our first stop today was Osborne House.  We walked down to Swiss Cottage, Queen Victoria’s children’s playhouse, and then back to the house itself. We were amazed by the spectacular ceilings, ornate furniture and beautiful oil paintings.  We visited the gift shop before having a picnic lunch and a play in the park.  The weather was superb - hot and sunny with not a cloud in the sky.

This afternoon, we visited Carisbrooke Castle.  The views from the top were breathtaking.  We also met Jill the donkey who demonstrated how to draw water from the well.

We have just returned from the theatre where we were part of an audience made up of school parties.  We sang and danced and are now back at the hotel and in bed!

The children’s behaviour has been excellent and they are all having a wonderful time,,,
