Many parents and grandparents joined children in school and Pre-School this afternoon to learn more about the development of writing.
They were welcomed by our Headteacher, Mrs Barnard-Taylor, and then received an informative talk by Mrs Riches, our Reception teacher, about how children learn to become writers.
Everyone then joined in with a whole range of activities, within the Early Years Foundation Stage classrooms, to aid development of early writing skills. Parents and children were encouraged to try lots of activities together at home and were given prompts and information sheets to take away with them.
"I have attended several of the school's workshops and I have found them extremely useful in providing ideas for different activities to try at home."
"It was great... so well organized and thought out with so much to take away for home play and learning."
" I found it really helpful to learn about how to help my daughter progress with her learning."
