Year 5 Maths Challenge

News

17th June 2021

This afternoon, some of our Year 5 pupils represented our school in the Year 5 Maths Challenge.

This event is organised each year by The Cambridgeshire Maths Team, a group of Maths advisers within Cambridgeshire County Council.  This year, due to Covid restrictions, the event took place virtually and answers were submitted via a device.  Twelve teams from different schools took part in this heat with the winning team going through to the final on 5th July.

We entered two teams of four.  The members of the team were expected to work collaboratively over three rounds of questions and problem-solving tasks.  Although, they did not come first and qualify for the final, they thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Well done to all who took part and thank you to Mrs McLean and Mrs McBeath for organising the equipment and supervising the teams.
