This week, our Reception class and Pre-School had a fantastic time learning about Chinese New Year through a variety of hands-on activities!

The children explored a Chinese Curiosity Tuff Tray, filled with fascinating objects linked to the festival. They practiced counting money into lucky red envelopes, a tradition symbolising good fortune, and used chopsticks to count out one more and one less, developing both their maths skills and fine motor control.

Another exciting activity involved Chinese number formation using different media, helping the children recognise and recreate traditional Chinese numerals. To top it all off, they took part in a noodle tasting session, where they had the chance to try different textures and flavours.

It was a wonderful way to immerse the children in a different culture while having lots of fun.

Happy Chinese New Year!
