Our Curriculum

At Lionel Walden Primary School, our curriculum is exciting and engaging and is designed to be broad in reach and balanced in its approach.  It enables all children to show and develop their skills, nurtures their talent and develops them as rounded individuals, each displaying qualities that make them unique.
Our strong focus on ensuring that foundational basics create a solid base upon which to build is at the heart of our early year's provision.  Throughout the curriculum, knowledge and understanding is progressive, with strong links to previous learning underpinning new knowledge.
The local community and the surrounding area of Fenland provide a rich source of history which the curriculum taps into often to make learning relevant and develop children's sense of belonging.
Educational visits further afield, the use of technology and our popular special weeks such as International Week all add to widening the cultural experiences of our children.
Through all this and more, our children leave Lionel Walden with enquiring minds and positive life skills that enable them to further their education and learning in secondary school.
Details of the content of our Curriculum for each of our year groups can be found by selecting the relevant tabs.
Each term, teachers provide parents with a 'Link Up' which gives an overview of the topics being taught along with any other pertinent information.
If you require any additional information, please speak to your child's teacher by making an appointment through the School Office.
