We currently have a vacancy for a Parent Governor to join the Governing Body.
The Governing Body is made up of Governors from a range of different backgrounds, skills and experiences, but they are all volunteers who work together for the benefit of the school, and are the link between the school and the community it serves.
We would be delighted to hear from anyone who has:
· an interest in the performance of the school;
· a desire to contribute to, and represent, the community;
· an open and enquiring mind;
· the ability to look at issues objectively;
· the confidence to ask questions and join in debate;
· a willingness to listen and make informed judgements and
· the ability to work well with others
The term of office is 4 years. You will need a commitment to attend regular Governor meetings. We hold five meeting per year. These are held during the early evening. You will also take part in School Improvement meetings and visit the school to monitor the curriculum, standards and well-being. You do not need to have any experience or prior knowledge, as training will be offered.
Being a governor at Lionel Walden will give you:
· a chance to develop skills in strategic management;
· the opportunity to work with our team of governors and staff in improving our school;
· a sense of achievement in making a difference to our school and
· the pleasure of helping pupils reach their potential.
If you are interested in this role, then please complete the short form below and return it to the school office. Alternatively, you may copy the information into an email and send to the Clerk of the Governing body at clerk@lionelwalden.cambs.sch.uk. If more than the required number of applications are received then the appointment will be put to a parental vote. The closing date to express an interest in the position is 12pm Thursday 4th June 2026.
Yours sincerely,
Mrs K Naughton
Clerk to the Governing Body
