Christingle Workshop

Christingle Workshop with Canon Collinson and the Open the Book Team

Canon Collinson and the Open the Book team visited Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 to teach the children all about the meaning of Christingle. The pupils learned why the orange represents the world, what the red ribbon symbolises, and how the candle reminds Christians that Jesus is the light of the world. They also discovered the significance of the sweets and dried fruits, representing the goodness and gifts in our lives.

The children then had the opportunity to make their own Christingle oranges, carefully adding each part as they listened to the story. There was a wonderful sense of excitement and curiosity in the room, with pupils proudly showing their creations and talking about what each part stood for.

It was a warm, joyful session that the children thoroughly enjoyed, helping them to understand an important Christian tradition in an engaging and memorable way.
