On Wednesday 29th January, Max and Phoenix from 20TwentyProductions spent a day with Year 5 as part of their Junior Naturalist Programme. The day included discussing Climate Change and BioDiversity as well as exploring the environmental issues in our local area. In the afternoon, the children worked in small groups to test their problem solving and creative thinking to address some of the environmental issues that face the planet. The day concludedwith the children being introduced to the Junior Naturalist Awards.
The day was a fantastic success, with the children particularly enjoyed designing and creating new inventions to help solve environmental issues.
Some of the Year 5 children talked about the day and what they had learnt:
'I learnt that glass bottles can go in the recycle bin but broken glass cannot.'
The team challenges showed us that it’s not how hard you work; it’s how good your teamwork is!'
'We built massive towers of paper. Simple is sometimes better!'
Thank you to Twenty20 Productions for continuing to support the school in providing memorable experiences for the children.
