Year 6 led a thoughtful and sensitive assembly, helping us to understand the events of the two World Wars and the sacrifices made by so many. Pupils shared personal family memories, bringing in photographs and treasured artefacts to show their audience. Among the items were a 200-year-old family Bible, an army hat, and even pieces of wreckage from a Lancaster bomber that had been shot down.
Following the assembly, families joined the children in class for a collaborative art activity, creating striking collages of poppy fields. It was a meaningful and reflective way to mark this important day.
