Maths Week 2025 took place between the 15th-23rd Novemeber 2025. This annual event celebrates the brilliance and creativity of mathematics and as part of the week, all classes across the school took part in various mathematical challenges, designed for them to think in different ways and collaborate with others. Year 6 took part in a particularly special challenge, which was to use matchsticks to find the true value of Pi. Thousands of year 6 classes from around the country also took part in this challenge to contribute towards a world record effort!
In assembly this week, the children have been learning about Pi and what it means. Building on this, we also set a challenge in Key Stage Two of how many digits of Pi the children could remember after looking at them for 30 seconds. The three children in each class that could recall the most then participated in a final showdown in a whole school assembly. Well done to everyone who participated in this challenge!
