Year 1 took part in the Literacy Festival at Chatteris organised by 20Twenty Productions.
They spent time working with Ellie Sandall, author of Balancing Bernie, discovering the skills of being an author and illustrator. We met her early childhood inspirations in the form of her cuddly dog toys and guided through illustrating our own balancing dog.
Next, we visited Chatteris library and discovered all about being a librarian and developing our love of books and reading. Time was spent looking at books in the different sections and designing our own dog in the style of 'Hairy Maclary'.
