Year 2 Campfire Experience

Our English study has been focused on the text 'The Owl who was Afraid of the Dark'.

Plop, the baby Barn Owl, is afraid of the dark. He is so scared he won't even go hunting without his family. So Mrs Barn Owl sends him down from his nest hole, where he meets a series of friends who convince him that perhaps there is something a little magical about the dark after all.

One of Plop's friends takes him to see a campfire to persuade him to enjoy the darkness and revel in the beautiful colours.

We welcomed some of our local Scout Leaders in to school today as they helped us to create our own campfire. We learnt how important it is to stay safe around fire and lots of other aspects of fire safety. We sang lots of campfire songs and roasted marshmallows. They were delicious!

Thank you to Alice and the Scout Leaders who came along today.

Lots of fun was had by all!
