Year 2 Class Assembly - Thursday 15th February
Year 2 have been learning about The Great Fire of London. They investigated historical facts including when and how the fire started, how it spread and how it was eventually stopped. We were introduced to historical figures such as Samuel Pepys and Christopher Wren. They sang some beautiful songs and performed a beautiful dance depicting the events of the Great Fire.
Parents and grandparents then joined their children in the classroom to take part in an art activity where they used oil pastels to depict the London skyline ablaze. It was lovely to see everyone engaging and having fun working together.
We had some lovely feedback from parents about the singing, information gained and one stating that is was the best production that they had seen.
